Palisade Colorado Wineries |

For many, the word Colorado conjures up images of skiing, mountain streams and breathtaking wilderness. While Palisade boasts the beautiful landscapes that Colorado is famous for, it’s also home to a unique gem – Colorado Wine Country. Known for its premier Colorado wineries, this quaint town nestled in the Grand Valley houses two-thirds of Colorado vineyard acreage and more than one-quarter of Colorado wineries. Sitting atop artesian wells, which provide extra irrigation water for grape growers, the Grand Valley’s microclimate of sunny days, dry air and cool nights work together to produce plump grapes for the area wineries. The result? Award-winning wines. Come check out what Palisade has to offer. |

St. Kathryn Cellars offers a series of varietal and fruit wines destined to be new classics. These high quality, affordable wines are produced in Palisade, Colorado by wine maker Fred Strothman. "Maintaining the quality of the grape" is the philosophy behind our grape wine making. We have worked with a gold medal winning enologist to maximize the potential of the grape: its rich color, fruity aroma and distinctive flavor. The wines are soft and friendly, some with just a nuance of oak so the taste of the grape is enhanced, not masked, by that of oak resulting in wines that any wine drinker would be happy with before dinner, with dinner or after dinner. Our Colorado Country Wines are "fun" wines reminiscent of those grandma used to make. Taste the award-winning strawberry-rhubarb, blueberry, apple or pear and recall the pleasant aroma of fruit orchards and succulent berries in the berry patch. On the wine list: Chardonnay, Merlot, Blends, Colorado Country Fruit |

This family-owned winery is named for the place in which the winery began: in the mouth of the DeBeque canyon east of Palisade. There, the canyon winds enhance the taste of the wines produced in the area. Winemaker Robert Pepi brings Napa Valley experience to Palisade, Colorado. This world-renown winemaker gives careful supervision and direction to the wineries producing many award-winning estate wines that have put them on the map.

For more than 30 years, owners Bennett and Davy Price have been involved with the wine-making industry in various capacities. They purchased their own vineyard in 1982, licensed DeBeque Canyon Winery in 1997, and opened their wine-tasting room in 2001. Since then, they have slowly been building the volume of wine production at DeBeque Canyon Winery. Their wines have won national awards, especially the Claret, a Bordeaux-style blend.
Owners Jeff Carr and Dave McLoughlin purchased the historic farm in 2000 and converted the operation into a state-of-the-art winery and estate vineyard, but kept the quaint feel of the original farm. The two-story barn on the property was built in 1910, but was remodeled to house the fermentation room, barrel cellars, lab, vineyard offices, case storage and tasting room. They have worked to create a premium winery while retaining the historic aspects of the property.

Graystone Winery was built in 2000 and rests in the middle of the vineyard’s 25-acre estate. Named for the gray, majestic shale bluffs surrounding the Grand Valley and Colorado River, Graystone is also close to wild-horse country. The owners proudly boasts of it’s specialty: Ports. The first wine – a red port -- was bottled in September 2002 with a second port – Pinot Gris – recently added. Both ports have received numerous awards both nationally and internationally.

We're what you'd call an artisanal distillery, which of course makes us artists, serious craftsmen, if you will. Manufacturing tasteless, odorless vodka from potatoes doesn't interest us, it's just not fun. If we were going to do that, we might as well just make gasoline. We use a custom-made, copper, German pot still to create The Goat. Our secret behind the Goat's character, you ask? Olathe Sweet Corn. Olathe Sweet Corn, and our Head Distiller, Davy Lindig.
